A birdie told me I've been on your mind.......

So....Here I am. Can I help you??

I'm sure I can...but first...... I need help. Houston is so darn big, I just can't seem to not get lost, even when I'm headed to places I've already been! This week held tons of things for me. One of which involved heading to the Houston's Children's Museum. It was for 75% work and 25% "fun" (did I mention I'm publisher mom now too? .....details to come). I was supposed to be there at 9:30 am but due to the winding roads and oddly placed exit signs, I ended up driving around for at least and additional 45 minuets. Uggh!  Once I parked and hurried Hana inside with me things began to go smoother. I met with the Museum's PR Associates, headed over to my table and the fun began.(can you say net working!).

FFWRD------- After work was all done, I was invited to stay at the museum and let my little Hana bear play. I do have to say.....my little sunflower was a GOOD girl. She sat right at my booth and just waited for the event to end. She didn't cry or try to run off after the other kids. She just ate the snacks and chatted. Anyway....back to the play time. Once she let loose she had an awesome time. She rode the tricycles, went shopping in the play city supermarket, ....Oh man...she really had a ball! One thing I learned.....my baby has an affinity for strawberries! When she pretend shopped, she checked out lots of plastic food, but STOCKED UP on the berries! She took them all. Needless to say that getting her out of there was no fun at all. Here are some shots from the day!

Oh! and no.....she never asked to nurse once, while we were out. ^_^

Wow...It's been 6 months!!

Since my last post! I cant believe it!  But  business and work has kept me SUPER SUPER BUSY!!  That's a good thing, however I still think I need to get back to my blog ^_^ ...... after all......I'm still a nursing mama.....extended that is ^_^.

I don't really have the time to make this a catch-up post because of the ton of things that have happened, but I'll try to squeeze it in little by little. I guess I'll start with what I really want to share.....

My NYC visit!!
I went to see my big sis graduate in the summer and man...it was really nice. aside from the ceremony it sure was nice to see my family again, and my old city! I never thought I'd miss the good ole Bronx but I do. I miss all the things I grew up with, the food, the places, my friends,,,,,*sigh...Maybe going back will be in my future..but for now I'm living life as a Texas girl and I have to say....it's not a bad life at all (my eldest son can walk to high school and there are no people standing on the corner, and in a year he can drive himself to school!

anyway...back to my NYC visit!  Here are some of my favorite pictures......I'll keep putting more up as the day goes on.

19 months...1st fever

Hana Bear has her first high fever......this is a big deal as this little powerhouse of health is NEVER sick.  As things happen.... this fever just came out of nowhere. It's about. 3 am....an hour or do ago i noticed an overly fussy, sleepy, and oddly enough...talkative little girl. when she rolled over to me she was quite warm and i knew she was sick.

I took her temp and gave her a dose of infant tylenol and motrin......both at the same time.....its a little trick i learned with my first and second sons ( especially my second son Ryan...he was always sick it seemed...poor baby..) Thats what they do at the ER to bring the fever down quickly.

Right now its looking like the medicine worked, because she feels cool to the touch. much better than 30mins ago. She's even fallen back to sleep. She is so brave...even being sick, she has not cried like some little ones do. Such a strong little girl....totally reminds me of my mother!

Saturday Blues...

I feel the winter blues......even though it's about 55 degrees outside today. I also feel the persistent urge for a vacation. Maybe because I'm working so hard, or maybe it is the weather,....but i really feel the need for a Caribbean vacation! I'd love to take the kids this time, so im going to research some kid friendly cruises! On top of that I'm feeling home sick......I MISS NYC!!!! Really ....I'm going to be there in march, hopefully. First stop....all my favorite food spots! Of course the little nurser will be with me, so no night life for me ^_^

Firsts vs Lasts

My little girl has become more independent lately. Just last month my daughter had this thing she would do when she woke up in the morning. Actually she has been doing this one action since i brought her home from the hospital. Every morning, even after her naps, If she was asleep in another room and woke up, she would sit up in the bed and cry (just fake tears) until someone came to get (rescue) her. This week things are different. While sitting down stairs in the living room I heard Hana do her morning whimper....but this time it was very short. Just a few sounds, and then the pitter patter of her little foot steps! She got out of the bed on her own, came down the stairs in her butt sliding fashion, and tada! there she was. Myself and her Father could not believe our eyes.....our little baby is getting big. The very next day she did it again, and now gone are the days of going to get my little princess from the bed.

That's what got me to thinking about all her other "lasts". No one ever really bothers to document  the last time their kids do the little things that mark their journey into new stages, but I think I will start. Another recent last for my little girl is her cute way she goes down the stairs in our house. She scoots down on her butt, but just the other day she grabbed the banister and WALKED down just like everyone else! Now that's how she goes up AND down the stairs. I guess that marks her growing into a different phase of full toddler-hood, but I sure do miss seeing her do that little scoot of hers....oh well....another "last" for the record book.

another thought.....I wonder when was the last time my boys reached up to me and I carried them???.....you know....the last time before they asked to be carried again, and I told them the were too heavy for mommy to pick up......Hana is getting so big....I'm sure that time is coming for her sooner than I'd like, but for now I know there are many more carries left before I'm writing about the "last" one.
